LEI RIEDEL

Originally from Keaukaha on Hawai’i Island, Lei Riedel moved to O’ahu to pursue educational opportunities in the early 2000s. Lei has since worked in various community-based organizations while completing her Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2013. From then, Lei has worked in Native Hawaiian serving organizations on O’ahu with specialization in Federal grants, community service and education. After dedicating some time toward the development and sustainability of her own sole proprietorship, Lei returned to non-profit work in late 2023 taking on the Pakini Loan Fund as Director with Waianae Economic Development Council.
As Director, Lei manages the Pakini Loan Fund’s growth as well as day-to-day operations including community partnerships, capital origination, client engagement and underwriting.
Lei is currently a board member on UH-Manoa’s Public Administration Advisory Board, Vice-President of Kapolei Hawaiian Civic Club, on the Advisory Board for the O’ahu Business Connector with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Revitalization, a member of the Waianae Coast Rotary Club and continues to grow and expand her business endeavors.
Shavone Lave is the Program Director for the Wai’anae Economic Development Council (WEDC). She has lived in the Lualualei moku for over 20 years, where she continues to raise her family and remain connected to the community. Shavone is passionate about community-driven work and creating systems that support sustainable growth.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Chaminade University and her Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Shavone has a diverse background in mental health advocacy, business development and nonprofit leadership.
Shavone has served in various roles throughout her career, including CDFI Director, Business Developer, Operations Consultant, Kindergarten Teacher, and Human Services Specialist. She is the founder of The Sugar Hut, a previous brick and mortar bakery in Ma’ili, and Shavone Lave Consulting, where she provides business coaching and operational strategy to entrepreneurs and organizations. She brings a thoughtful, mission-driven approach to every project and is committed to helping individuals and organizations thrive.
